Energy Market Operations
The Electricity Market Law No. 4628, enacted in 2001, initiated a significant transformation in Turkey's energy sector.
This law aimed to ensure energy supply security, enhance efficiency in the sector, and create a competitive market structure. Producers in the electricity market transmit the electricity they generate to a transmission system that operates on a common pool basis, delivering this energy to consumers. All consumers in Turkey meet their energy needs from a shared electricity pool.
As Tektuğ Electric Generation Inc., we supply the electricity our customers need solely from domestic and renewable sources, channeling it into the Turkish electricity system on behalf of our customers. In this process, our customers have the advantage of utilizing the electricity produced by Tektuğ Electric Generation Inc. from the pool system without any changes to existing power lines. This allows our customers to achieve sustainable and environmentally friendly energy usage while taking pride in supporting local resources.
The electricity meter reading process is carried out by distribution companies within the framework of their legal authority and responsibilities. The index information of the electricity meters for free consumers is communicated to the relevant electricity suppliers along with the "Meter Reading Report" prepared after the reading process.
Electricity meter indices are received along with the reports created by electricity sales companies, and the bill amounts for free consumers are determined based on the terms of the agreements. Consumers pay the bill amounts to the electricity sales company in accordance with the specified agreement conditions.
Electricity tariffs are approved by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) on a quarterly basis and announced to the public. Based on the terms of the agreements made with electricity sales companies, consumers' electricity prices are calculated and reflected in customer bills.
The resolution of faults in the electrical installations of free consumers and their maintenance falls under the authority and responsibility of the electricity distribution company serving the area where the consumer is located.
