Information of the project
Kalealtı HES – 15 MW
The Kalealtı HPP project is established on the Savrun Stream within the borders of Kösepınarı Village, Kadirli District, Osmaniye Province. A production license for the project was obtained on July 10, 2003, and construction activities included a regulator structure, a 916-meter transmission tunnel, a 1,400-meter transmission canal, a loading pool, an 844-meter pressure pipe, and the power plant building. These works were successfully completed, and the facility was commissioned on November 30, 2006, after receiving temporary acceptance from the ministry.
As part of the project, 5,500 pomegranate trees were planted in the area, contributing positively to the project's environmental sustainability. The Kalealtı HPP project effectively utilizes natural resources to produce energy while maintaining ecological balance.
